Friday, May 27th was the first of the two night Vanity club soiree. Might you I had traveled in from Nashville, about 6 hours actually in the air so was very tired. However, I still enjoyed going to dinner with all my vanity club sisters that were able to make it...about 10. The restaurant was Asia SF where the waiting staff also doubles as the entertainment..drag. Some of the show was truely fun...especially a parody of "Wind beneath my wings" called "comtempt beneath my feet". They even had a "personalized menu for us..what fun!!! If you pass your cursor over the picture it will tell you what it is..who is in it etc. There were a grand total of 12 VC members there..think I have at least one picture of each of them with me...plus there are some other girls that arent VC, I dont know them so will refer to them as unknown. I went back to the hotel after dinner, which was about 12:00 in San Francisco but I had been up since 5 oclock the previous day what with the traveling by that time (2 oclock in the am at home).
During the day Saturday, May 28th, I was able to rest up so that that night I was ready to party a bit more and made it to three venues. We had dinner at the Blue Muse and wow, was it delicious. We have fun taking pictures and just generally enjoying being with each other. Some of us especially enjoyed the piano, taking pictures lounging on it. In fact in the group shot, Joanna and Krystal seem to be perched on it behind the rest of us. After dinner, which took about 2 hours, we kinda went different directions but I am sure all of us had fun as I did. Several of us went to Marlena's where we ended up on stage being introduced as "the pretty ladies from the Vanity club". The show was nice, but the attention was even better. After a while there, about 4 of us headed over to Martunies. Martnies is a "san francisco style" bar. That means that it is pretty open. Not really gay, but many gays go there. Liz Walters and I walked in, couldnt find a place to sit which really disappointed me as I was getting tired. A very kind waiter saw us and came after us to let us know that he had a table coming open. Very nice of him....and he was kinda cute as well...a double plus. (grin)

The soiree and weekend ended all to soon but we all seemed to have a blast. I know I did. I hope to get together with some of these girls again at Southern Comfort in September of this year and somewhere in the country in 2006. In addition, I would highly recommend a trip to San Francisco to anybody..and would love to go back. (big smile)
