Yes, the picture is of an actor,....one Colin Farrell. He qualifies as "cutie of the week", hearttrob, and all around "delicious" man. (grin) Believe it or not, I used to get him confused with Will Ferrell, especially before watching this movie with him in it. Will is, of course, NOTHING like Colin. Colin is a real hunk, and a sweetie type as well. Hope you agree.
Now my favorite (really the one that brought him to my attention) is A Home at the End of the World. Here is part of a preview as presented at epinions:
"Based on the novel of the same title by Pulitzer Prize Winning novelist, Michael Cunningham, (The Hours) the 2004 drama A Home At The End Of The World is a moving story about, love, loss, and the true meaning of the word home; not a brick and mortar structure, but a dwelling place for one's heart and soul, that can never be lost or destroyed. It's not just another story about a heterosexual/homosexual love triangle, but an unconventional love story that transcends the issue of sexual orientation, dealing on a more primal level, with the human desire for safety, love, and belonging. "
The fact that the book was written by the same author who wrote "the Hours" should tip off anyone familar with his work that this is an "out of the norm" book and movie. The review is very accurate and goes on to give a lot more detail which I am not including so that those desiring to, can see the movie without having it "ruined" The part Colin plays is of a guy that has a real need for "home", and who goes to extra-ordinary means to keep one. He is not the type person who strikes out on his own....family left behind. Yet, he does have to make choices, and rises to meet each challenge....and sticks by those with him he has found a "real home for the heart". I have to admit, it is not all together a feel good movie, but it does leave one choked up with loving feelings throught out....including at the end.
This movie is likely not going to be one of those that have sequels, as the end of the story is pretty much clear at the end. However it is a "must see" as far as I am concerned. Run, dont walk to your nearest Blockbuster, Hollywood Video, or whatever you have in your area and check it out!!!!!!!!!!!!
