It is not often that you can actually read a book, enjoy it, and email the writer to say "hey, that was a good book". The book is "In The Blood" by Rick Reed, who is a "friend" on myspace. Admittedly I love vampire stories to begin with so I may be biased, however, I think this is a delightful book. It brings to mind the type of character analysis and attention to detail found in Anne Rice's various psychological thriller type novels. I loved them and I love this one.

The story is pretty simple. Three vampires, and a look at their lifes, pass and present. In addition, there is another thread, which consists of a down and out artist and her daily and nightly life. The way the two halves come together is the genious of the story. Read it, especially if you have any interest in vampire stories, but even if you dont you may find a good that you enjoy anyway. :)
