January 7, 2005..........................SBS Social

Roy walked up to me at the Computer one day in December and told me that John (of IL) of chatroom fame (as well as Southern Comfort) was coming to Nashville for some sort of eent from Jan 5 thru Jan 9th. Wanted me to call a social. Well, I believe in Special events and I beliee in being a good hostess so I did so. So it was that we were out about one week after New Years... which apparently is traditionally the most lean "bar hopping" day of the year. Who Knew?? (shrug)

As usual I called the social and asked for RSVP's because the Tribe has tables to worry about. With much less fanfare than ever before, I managed to get a good count of 6 attendees in order to give a count to the restaurant. Not only that but the count was accurate...6 people confirmed, 6 people attended. Wonderful.

So it was that at 8:30 Anna and Barbara from Chattannooga joined myself, Roy, and Fredrikka all from Nashville, and finally John from Illinois at the Tribe for dinner. It was, as always deliscious and very congenially served by a sweet young man with a rosy smile. Roy even changed his order right before delivery time for the meal, and the change was handled with a smile. I love the Ribeye, including the gravy which I thought would be a turn off but turned out to be a wonderful addition, and the horesradish mashed pototoes which sounds like they would taste awful but in fact were wonderful. Oh and less I forget there was always the wonderful "stop-off" by the ever charming Cuba St Thomas wearing a suit that I absolutely feel in love with, altought the chances of getting it in my size are probably zip..LOL

After about 2 hours spend eating, we walked up the posted next stop, which was Blu, only to find a nearly empty bar and a 10.00 cover. We demured from such a high cover and went on down to the Gas Lite and chatted for a while. Finally we went (3 of us anyway) went on the the Cabaret where we saw a old friend of ours do a Boy George impersonation. Katrina, you were always the best of entertainers...:) We finally closed out the night about 2:30 or so, knowing that altought we might have been a relatively small group...we had had fun.
