July 3, '10 Show night
I was invited, thanks Sabra, to preform in a show last night commerorating Independence Day at a local watering hole called Purple Heys. I went out and bought a couple cd's and got ready for the night, with some fear and trembling, as is always the case when I am getting ready to do a show, but got ready I did, and preform I did.
Turned out to be a great evening, in part due to the fact that three old time friends, that I had not seen in about 10-12 years, were in town, and it was so good to kind of catch up and just be together. It also seemed that they enjoyed the show, including my part which was "Blue Bayou" by Linda Ronstadt, and "Save the Best for Last" by Vanessa Williams. Last night was my very first preformance of Blue Bayou, but it just seemed to speak to me.
Anyway, as the old cliche says, a good time was had by all. It was good to try and remember some of the old days and just hang out with people from the past, including one of the preformers who I wanted to get a picture with but just never managed it. Oh well, maybe next time.
