We were not sure we would be able to make it to SCC this year, what with Roy's bad health and the scarcity of money around the old homestead but we managed somehow to get there. As usual, a lot of the event was a blur. A blur of activity and fun, to be sure, but nonetheless a blur. I look back now at some of the pictures and I cant remember exactly when or what I was doing.
There are some things, however, that stand out mightily. I know exactly what they were. One is the dinner at a restaurant called Brio on Thursday night. This was a "function" for the Vanity Club girls and was a very nice meal and time to socialize, sorority sister to sorority sister style. Another event that stands out was the banquet saturday night when Roy got an award for the work he did at the "katrina relief silent auction" table. The love and appreciation he received was a big morale booster for us both and, obviously, a big high point.
Obviously there were things about the rest of the time that was memorable as well. Most of that had to do with the people I was interacting with...great fun. (smile) The PJ party was when I got to have my picture taken with not one, but two, handsome men..always a high point for me. :) The VC group photo time slot was a hight point for me in that the Vice President, with possibly some collabatrion, presented me with a mug that you will see pictured to show her apprecation for the job I did as President the last two years. I tried and certainly everything didnt go well, and the good things I would be very remiss in grabbing credit for but at least I didnt get in the way..LOL
The pictures are in what I think is correct chronological order..not sure, and not sure it matters that greatly. The point is WHO I was with, not when we were together after all. Any of you that are in the pictures, feel free to grab the picture for your own website. Oh and this will be a "work in progress" because there are pictures I have not received from those that took them yet. The first batch of 2 group pictures is the Southern Belle Society during the reception and the 2nd group is the "unoffical" group pictures of the Vanity Club. The offical group shot, which I am sure will be better, hasnt been received yet. So check back later.
